Funeral services Dixie Maxey Williams, 87, of West Monroe will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Fair Park Baptist Church. Rev. Waymond Warren will be officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church Cemetery, Downsville under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.

Mrs. Williams was born March 3, 1923 in Downsville, LA and passed away February 10, 2011 in West Monroe. She was a retired telephone operator and medical secretary, a former member of New Chapel Hill Baptist Church, a member of Ridge Avenue Baptist Church and a volunteer for Glenwood Hospital Auxiliary.

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Don L. Williams.

Mrs. Williams is survived by a son, Danny Williams and wife Karla; daughter; Donna Williams Zigler; grandsons; Jacob Williams and Steven Alex Moore; granddaughter, Olivia Grace Zigler; sister-in-law, Pearl Maxey-Wells and husband Leon; nephews, Paul H. Maxey and wife Martha, Gary D. Maxey and wife C J; niece, Barbara Maxey Wilhelm and husband Dan; 6 great nephews, 2 great nieces and 1 great-great nephew and 2 great-great nieces. She is also survived by a special friend of over 80 years, Mrs. Julia Beth McFarland and many other close friends.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Williams, Steven Alex Moore, Paul Maxey, Bobby F. Lawrence, Caleb Warren and Spencer Stewart.

Memorials may be made to Fair Park Baptist Church, I Care Fund or Mt. Ararat Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.

A special thanks from the family to the staff of The Arbor House in West Monroe and the nursing staff of Glenwood ICU and 2nd, 3rd, and 6th floors.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 12, 2011 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
