Ramirez, Dinorah Belia

Ramirez, Dinorah, age 48, passed away on March 10, 2022, after a long fight with cancer. She was a devoted daughter to Belia C. Ramirez; beloved sister of Pablo Ramirez Jr., Guillermo ("Memo") Ramirez, and Edgar Ramirez; loving sister-in-law to Kris Kafka, James Pollock, and Michelle Ramirez; and doting aunt to Valentina Ramirez. She is predeceased by her father, Pablo V. Ramirez, who loved her dearly and thought she could do no wrong. Dinorah spent her life helping and caring for others. For over twenty years, Dinorah worked at the WINGS Program, where she was known for the kind and respectful way she helped victims of domestic abuse. She also spent most of her adult life caring for her elderly mother, who considered Dinorah her best friend. It was often Dinorah who would bring the whole family together. She would host parties for the major holidays and birthdays, delighting everyone with her cooking and baking and providing family members with their happiest memories. While our mother represents the roots of the Ramirez family tree, Dinorah was clearly the trunk which gave our family its stable center. Her loss is devastating, and we will have to find new ways to come together as a family. She will be greatly and sorely missed. However, Dinorah was an intensely spiritual person, and she would want us to celebrate the beginning of her new journey. We take comfort in the fact that she is no longer suffering and that she is in a better place. The funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Church (4432 N. Troy St, Chicago) on Saturday, April 2, at 10AM.
