Diane Reider Obituary

Reider, Diane Clare Blair

On June 1, 2023, the world lost the most amazing woman, Diane Clare Blair Reider, who died peacefully surrounded by her family in Chicago at the age of 82.

Forever remembered by her children Kathleen and Jeff MacCarron, Timothy and Catherine Reider, and Matthew and Ann Reider; 12 grandchildren, Rachel (Michael), Jake, Max, Emma, Kevin, Colleen, Nicholas, Joshua, Virginia, Samuel, and Henry; And her 3 great-grandchildren; Dylan, Evelyn, and Maddie Grace; her nephews Joseph Brooks (Tammy), Joe Scandora; nieces Michelle, Sue (Langston), Lisa and Gigi; grandnephews Cole and Justin; and grandnieces Bailey and Abby, Courtney, Brook, and Jenny. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Arthur Reider, her best friend and sister, Patricia Brooks, her nephew Johnny, her sisters-in-law Dorothy Berman and Diane Scandora, her mother-in-law June Reider and her parents Grace and Joseph Blair.

Diane was born on January 11, 1941, in Chicago Illinois. She was raised in Wabash, Indiana before making her way back to her sweet home Chicago, where she remained a true and loyal Bears and Cubs fan! Diane and her tireless energy accomplished everything she set out to achieve. She married the guy who saved her from drowning at a party on Fox Lake - who turned out to be the love of her life - Arthur Reider, in 1963. Together they raised three children. Diane was an incredible mom - loving, funny, spiritual, always supportive, and present for her kids! She will be fondly remembered by her friends and family for her infectious laugh and genuine love for people, many of which considered her to be a second mom. Diane had a great career in Customer Service; she enjoyed working and was good at it! She loved watching her company grow. In her spare time, she was a board member of several organizations, and supported many not-for-profit organizations. Later in life, Diane and Archie became snowbirds, spending summers in Chicago, Wisconsin, and Indiana while wintering in Florida and Texas.

No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Alzheimer's Association® - Fight Alzheimer's and Dementia.
