Diane Carlson Obituary

Carlson, Diane B. Age 80, of Flossmoor, IL, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015. Diane is survived by her loving husband, Rick; and her family; children, Gregory (Monica) Bodell and Kristin Carlson; grandchildren, Robert, Peter, David, Madeline and Mia Bodell; daughter-in-law, Jani Bodell; as well as brother-in-law, Frank Carlson; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Bracy and Patricia (Gerald) Russell; and several nieces and nephews. Diane was preceded in death by her son, Kurt Bodell; and her brother, William Bracy. Diane was an avid golfer and longtime member of Flossmoor Country Club. She was also a primary grade school teacher in Homewood School District 153. Her love of reading was passed on to so many Homewood school children through her work in the Library and Learning Centers. Diane retired from teaching in 2003. Memorial donations to the Glenwood Academy, 500 W. 187th Street, Glenwood, IL 60425 or to the library of your choice would be appreciated. Cremation was private. A memorial and celebration of life service is planned to be held at Flossmoor Community Church, 2218 Hutchison Road, Flossmoor, IL at 1:00 p.m. on her birthday, Saturday, February 14, 2015.
