McCarthy, Derek Paul

Derek Paul McCarthy, 30, of Elgin, Illinois, was born to the late Kevin James McCarthy and Cheryl Ann Olson in Panorama City, California on November 15 th , 1991. He passed away on June 19 th , 2022. Derek grew up in Naperville and Urbana Illinois. Derek was blessed with two beautiful children Rihanna, 11 and Carter, 9. He is survived by the mother of his children, Megan Kelly, his mother Cheryl, and his Grandmothers (both named) Elaine. Derek is also leaving behind his sister Jessica Ann Hart-McCarthy as well as his goddaughter and niece Lena. Derek enjoyed skateboarding, fishing, and breeding snakes but above all he loved being a father to his children. Before Derek passed he started his own clothing design company, he really enjoyed reading and graphic design.
