I did not know that this was out there; Barb Henke showed me how to leave a message. I want you to know I think of your family and DeAnn every day. I know it is not any easier at the year past time frame. But we know she has watched over us and is near; even though we can not see her. May each day be a blessing, just knowing she was such a blessing to all she ever came in contact with.

Old friends,
My family and I have known DeAnn my whole life--me being a few years older than Andrea. As a kid my parents and Roger's parents played cards in the big town of Swanville on a regular basis. Actually, I think it was DeAnn that gave me the name "Little Cindy" so as not to confuse Andrea and her cousins with their aunt, "Big" Cindy. We were often invited to the Hoeschen's for Thanksgiving Dinner (the BEST EVER) and spent many celebrations with them. I don't have any specific stories, but I do know that DeAnn loved her family. When Nathan was born (sorry, Matt, I wasn't around when you came along) she DOTED on him! I'm sure Matt got the same. When they got this dog, "Kahula" or something like that--it was the ugliest dog I'd ever seen. DeAnn loved that thing like her own kids. Of course came the pet shop and all its critters. DeAnn loved it all. She loved life.
As I listened to all of DeAnn's practical jokes at the celebration, I thought I somehow needed to keep her legacy alive. I am constantly trying to find ways to add that fun to my colleagues' life teaching middle school. The perfect opportunity has arrived--with DeAnn's divine intervention, I'm sure. A colleague has these birds that are constantly diving into her classroom window. She made the unfortunate email request to staff as to why this might be happening. I need to make a trip to Michaels' to get some fake birds to "land" on her desk!
It was nice to see Nate all grown up at the celebration--you have your mom's smile :) That ladel story will be passed on to my kids when we go college shopping FOR SURE!
I know DeAnn helped Roger raise a strong family. You are all in my family's thoughts and prayers.

Hey DeAnn... I'm stupified as to what to say...I miss you...I missed you when I left Minnesota, but I was always comferted because you were no more then an email or phone call away. You inspired me to think outside the box, use my creative brain power and not take myself so seriously... We will always have the second shift of 2004 during the backfile project...and corn

I don't regret anything I did, I only wish I would have done more. What a quote!. DeAnn said this in the last month or so before her death. I think it says alot about what she was and who she was. DeAnn never wanted to stay inside the box. DeAnn never worried about the circumstances after wards, she could not rest until she pulled her prank and got you to laugh or smile, then she was satisfied. DeAnn should have been born with 2 sets of hands that way she would have a set for herself, because she was always lending her helping hands to you in any way she could. She truly was there for you in any shape or form that you wanted her to be. DeAnn would have given you the shirt off her back because with DeAnn she always put herself second and you always came first, she would have it no other way. DeAnn was truly a person that when you said friend, she was that in every sense of the word, she was faithfull to you, she treated you and everybody with the highest respect, she truly would bend backwards to be there for you, she was truly a person you were happy you got to know. DeAnn and I spent alot of late nights putting our heads together and our creative spirits working late when it was time for the cafe OSA for the united way. Everything with us had to be just right and no stopping until it was. She would keep bringing stuff from home even up to the day of the event because it was her passion to decorate and have fun. Fun would be a very good word to describe her, even through these last couple of months, She cared more on how you felt then how she herself felt. DeAnn was a rare jewel and heaven should consider them fortunate and lucky to have her. DeAnn will truly be missed and life will always be missing that one piece. Yes we will all go on and in time it will get easier, but the memory, of DeAnn will never be erased. She is now flying on eagles wings, yet for those who knew her they might just say that she traded in her angel wings for eagles wings. She was Gods cherished child and I think she lived every day trying to mirror her heavenly father. DeAnn I bid you farwell until the day we can meet again, maybe they'll be a craft we can once again work together on. Love your friend Don

I’ve worked with DeAnn at Wells Fargo for over five years. To try to put anything into words about this great woman would be an injustice. Her heart went out to everyone: family, neighbors, friends, co-workers, and anyone she ever met. DeAnn celebrated life each and every day, and lived it to the fullest. I’ve never known anyone who was more selfless. She gave, and gave, and then gave some more. Her concern for others and passion for life rubbed on us all. DeAnn motivated, created, and inspired. You didn’t have to lose for her to win. Her role was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and friend. But her mission on this world was to bring a smile to your face, give you an extra spring in your step, and to get you to believe in yourself more than you’d ever thought possible. I miss you DeAnn. I miss your love and friendship. I miss the banter, the card playing, the laughing, and the joking. I’m a better person having known you, the world’s better because you were here, and heaven’s a better place because you are there. They say heaven only takes the best. That’s never been as true until now. Part of me thinks God is being selfish for taking you, but I know you’ll have the last laugh. He’s going to have to put up with you for the rest of eternity on hearing why the Twins, Vikings, and Gophers should win. I know you’ll always be with me, but I can’t wait until our next card game together………………

Deann was one of a kind, she made me feel so important. Always remembered a birthday with graffiti sprinkled on your head when you least expected it, and be standing behind you with a smile and a cake Saying "Happy Birthday". Nobody was ever left out when she was around. She was like second mother to me, I will miss her so much.

DeAnn was a wonderful person who will be missed by all who knew her. She had a sense of humor that would have your belly aching from laughing so hard. She was the Queen of practical jokes that were so surprising if your got caught. I will miss her for her wealth of wisdom, understanding nature, her valued perspective and generosity. May the heavens be brighter with your presence DeAnn.. You are a cherished friend. Sincerely, Shannon Nkurlu

I'm one of many that worked with Deann at Wells Fargo Bank. Deann will be missed by everyone here at work and in her community. Her laughter and smile is missed. She's and Angel in heaven now, so I know she is smiling down on us right now.

I had the pleasure of knowing DeAnn through work at Wells Fargo. DeAnn had this amazing ability to see the positive side of any situation and saw the best of everyone. She always put others ahead of herself and was able to light up any room she was in. Even to the very end, she showed concern for everyone around her as we prayed for the best for her. Anyone who had the privledge to know her is a better person because of her. We will all miss you deeply, but we know that you're smiling down on us from Heaven. God has blessed you. You'll never be forgotten.
