I nursed David and Penny in Malaga when he was only a baby and Mr and Mrs Simpsons were so young. They were extremely kind, and I can only remember happy times with them.
I have kept David and Penny in my heart throwout all these years even at such a long distance. I was so fortunate to see them again after more than 40 years and see that he was still as sweet as a he was as a child. Patty, I had also the pleasure to know you, such a matching partner and his lovely doughters.
All our love to you.

Patty, Lana and I are so very grief-stricken to think of what you and Dave have gone through this past year, and thinking of you and the kids without Dave right now. As you reach out for comfort, you can be assured that the world is a better place because of Dave. He left an imprint of kindness, friendship, and high character that has left a lasting impact on the thousands of people who knew him. This is true among only a very select class of people, especially among those who leave us at such a young age.

I think of Dave often, particularly when I encounter sticky ethical situations in business. Dave was so classy, he serves as a role model for others to follow. You're a classy person too, Patty. We hope you are surrounded by loved ones to help you be strong. We wish you God's peace and love. And we wish Dave God's peace and love. Martin & Lana

Patty,

I am really sorry to hear the sad news. Dave was a great guy personally and professionally and I am going to miss talking with him and going to ball games with him in the summer at Wrigley Field. I recall a conversation with him over dinner in Evanston after we moved to Chicago and he was so content and happy with you, the two girls at time, and life in general. He always had a positive outlook on life and on things in general, even in times of uncertainty. That was evident in the way he fought and battled his health issues over the past eighteen months. Dave was a great warrior and will be deeply missed by all of the people he touched. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Marilyn, Samantha, and Rachel.

Dear Patty -

I can't tell you how sorry I am. Even though I did not get to spend a lot of time with Dave one-on-one, I can tell you that I always enjoyed talking with him on the phone and the few one-on-one visits we had were memorable. He lived life with a passion and a purpose, and it was clear he cherished you and the girls. I count it a privilege to have known him professionally and personally, and am truly sorry for your loss.

You and the girls will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Mike and Simpson family -
We can't begin to express how truly sorry we are for your loss. David was a noble man who touched many, many lives, including ours. We feel previleged having met him. It's unfortunate that due to such short notice, we are unable to make travel arrangements to come spend some time with you in this difficult hour. I hope you find comfort in the notion that your beloved David now rests at a better place after such a hard fought battle. In recognition of his battle and to compensate for our absence, we have chosen to make a donation to the Colon Cancer Foundation in memory of David so that advancements can be made to one day prevent others from experiencing such an unmatched loss. Our deepest condolences -
