I just found out today, April 28, 2008 about David's passing. I am so very sorry for your loss. I cannot express what a wonderful person Davis was. I met him at St. Mary's College and became very close friends with him. David was the best man at my wedding and I will always remember our times at St. Mary’s. Please accept my sincerest condolences.

We miss you, Dave! It's been a rough & sad couple of weeks. So many unanswered questions:(
We all know you're in a better place, in HEAVEN with Susan,Aunt Edye,Uncle Russell,Uncle Oscar and all our other loved ones. Your boys remind me so much of you. You should feel proud looking down on how they've been handling all of this. You're accidental death only proves that The Lord has a set amount of days here on earth, for all of us. We should never take one or someone for granted. Cherish the young for they grow up toooo fast & hug the old, because it gives them strength.
Forgive & move on should be a lesson from this mishap for all of us to continue our short visit here on earth!
I will follow in your footsteps by living my life for my children (and husband) as you have.
May we all CHERISH YOUR MEMORY & NEVER FORGET YOU!!!!!
love,
Gail (buddy) your little sister

It is said when someone loses a parent, a part of their past is taken. When someone loses a sibling, a part of their present is lost. When someone loses a child, a part of the future is stolen. To my nieces and nephews, Brittany, Drew, Kendall and Evan, I am so sorry for the loss of your father. Dave was a real dad, and as such, knew the love he shared with all of his children. May the love and support of your mother and each other comfort you through this time. My heartfelt sympathy to the Parent family, for the loss of part of their past, present and future. May God bless you and give you strength.

I got to know David through the school where our children attended.
He was always friendly and kind. He was the best example a child could have. He was always there for his children and I know he will be very missed. God be with the whole family during this sad time. Celebrate the life he had, as he touched so many in a positive way that will live on.

My deepest condolences to the Parent family. Dave was one of my best friends from my high school years on, for over 30 years. I bowled with him, danced disco with him, hockey games, parties, the list goes on and on. Anytime I came in contact with him I remember his charismatic personality, his smile and zest for life. Dave was a devoted, and loving father and one of the most outstanding people I have ever met. He will be greatly missed- but the memories I have of him will live on forever. I hope we can all find peace and love in the memories we have of David. He will forever be in my thoughts and prayers.

"When Someone You Love Becomes A Memory, A Memory Becomes A Treasure." As for me, the treasure I hold in my heart is Pure Gold. In my opinion, there was no better man on this earth than David. He was truly an inspiration to us all. David possessed a quiet, loving, caring and gentle manner that touched everyone who knew him. From loving son, outstanding father, remarkable faith-filled person, David truly was a Genuine Soul. "The Lord Giveth and Taketh Away" but one day we shall all be together again and will rejoice in each other's company. God Bless You David.
Until we meet again...

Kind, humble, caring, funny. Loved his kids so much. Seemed to bring out the good in others. Never saw him without that smile. He was a good friend who will be truly missed. I pray for the family at this most difficult time. May God bless you, Dave.

There are only a handful of people who come into your world and touch your life in a meaningful way. Most of those you meet along the way are just flickers of light encountered during a long journey, while a special few maintain a consistent glow for years. For me, Dave Parent was my consistent glow. He's been my best friend for over 31 years, and I've always been proud to make that claim.
Anyone that ever came to know Dave couldn’t help but like him. He had a quiet charm, kindness and warmth that drew you in. Everyone I know that ever met him thought Dave was a good guy…and he truly was a good guy…in every sense of the word. He was also a man of character and honesty whose word was his bond.
It wasn't hard to see where Dave got so many of his good qualities, along with his engaging personality, sense of responsibility, and love of life. Luckily, the apple didn’t fall too far from the tree. Leon and Jeanine, you can both be extremely proud of the boy you raised. He grew up to be quite a man.
Words will never be able to adequately express the deep sadness I feel right now, and I will never be able to replace the tremendous loss, but I take some comfort in knowing that the memory of Dave will forever live on in all those whose lives he has touched.
Goodbye dear friend. You have graced my life more than you will ever know, and I’m a better person for having known you. I will NEVER forget you Dave. Your spirit will always live on in my heart.
