What a loss David's passing is to Diane, to Micah, to all of his family. We are so very sorry. As you said, Diane, you have lost your best friend and want him back.

We have lost a friend too, and would so like him back. We will remember, with smiles and pleasure, his enthusiasm for living, his intense discussions, his vibrant arguments, his amazing ability to remember children and their activities, his interest in other people, and his latkes. Really quite a man, a truly unique human being.

We are sad that he has moved on to just memory for us. May he rest in peace.

I was shocked to get a call from Renee (Colby) Cohen about David's passing. I just left Chicago after my mother's (Sheila) shiva was over. I had no idea that David was ill. My sincere condolences to you all at this terribly sad time.
