I just read that Dave passed away and I wish to offer my prayers and sincere condolences for your loss.
I know you don't know me, but I was a friend of Dave's at Northern Illinois. We were
RA's in the same residence hall for a year or so.
I can't imagine how painful it is to lose your spouse at such a young age.
God Bless You and Your Family. I will be praying for all of you.

Wow, I'm blown away coach Mattio is gone. I'm not a social media guy so i just found out today while online. A fair and honest guy who sincerely cared about his players, friends, and, family. Played for coach Mattio and graduated in 1989,saddened to hear of his passing. Rip Coach Mattio! Prayers to Jody and family and sorry i missed the services!

My condolences to the Mattio Family. Dave was a great teacher/coach and an outstanding human being. He touched the lives of hundreds of young men and women and will be sorely missed.
