I knew David all through St Ignatius Parish and Loyola Academy. He married the prettiest girl, Kathy and I never knew anyone who didn´t like him. I am saddened to hear of his demise. My prayers are with all of his family!

My cousin Dave was always pleasant and had a great sense of humor. We were a year apart in age and I always enjoyed him at family gatherings.
We even had a great double date when we were in college.
I am sending my sincere condolences to all the Hartigan family.

Our deepest condolences to the entire Hartigan family. Reading about David's long and fascinating life, his love for his family, and his generous civic engagements was inspirational. David certainly made Chicago and Illinois a much better place leaving a true legacy for his grandchildren to aspire to. We worked with his son Andrew, an MAI Appraiser for years whose professionalism and integrity are remarkable. Apples don't fall far from the Tree. I was delighted to learn that David was a Trustee to H.E.R.E. the Hotel Employees & Restuarant Employees union which I was a member of during my college years. Warmly, Andrea Raila

I had the privilege to know and work with David Hartigan when he was a member of the Board of Trustees of Goodman Theatre. You could not find a better advocate and supporter for our work. Plus his wisdom and leadership always help keep the company moving forward towards our goals. Personally, he was always a joy to be around and I only regret that our circles did not intersect more in recent years. My gratitude and appreciation for all that he achieved and his beautiful family is enormous. I send my sympathy to his wife and family along with all from the Goodman who knew him.
