Uncle Dave was a wonderful example for all of us in kindness toward fellow man, woman and child. He walks amongst the angels now and runs in emerald green pastures bordered by the pure river's edge. He snags walleyes and smiles across the heavens at night down on his four sweet girls....

Uncle Dave...
I have not known a more wonderful person than my great Uncle. It is so easy to see through his beautiful, kind and genuine daughters. While I feel very bad for the girls and of course all the rest that loved him so dearly including Aunt Leona, Mom,Tony & our families I also see him as needing to rest before he embraced Jo Ann to run off to a green meadow. Reading his memoirs of the cottage and northern Wisconsin as a boy and man I now envision him fishing on the river as a young man with Dad and Terry. His full dark hair with that distinct Fenlon widows peak and quiet kindness that gave off such a glow that one could only feel warmth when he was in your presence. Wow the times they will have...
I'll miss you very much my friend and thank you for the last voice mail message you left for me when we last spoke.
My love to you all,
Brian, Devon, Sophi & Finn

Words cannot express how deeply sorry I am for your loss. Mr. Fenlon was responsible for teaching me how to swim. He always promised that he would never let go and he never did. He nurtured my love for the water that continues to this day. Despite my physical limitations, he also made sure I was involved in every gym class. There was no such thing as sitting on the sidelines with him. Thank you to his family for sharing him with all his students. You knew him as a father I knew and loved him as a teacher and human being.
May he now be at peace and may time bring you comfort. Take pride in knowing that he was a great man who will live on in my life and in the lives of those students he taught every day.

Dear Fenlon Family,
I am very sorry for your loss. Coach Dave was truly one of a kind. He had such a big heart and I will always remember him for the kind, caring and sweet person he was. I am sorry that I can not attend, but I am keeping you all in my thoughts during this difficult time.

David "Coach" was the father I never had. I first met him when I was about 7yrs old at Pickard where he was the Saturday coach at the field house there. He always made time for me to teach me how to play different sports. He got me so involved with sports that he may have saved my life making me choose sports instead of gangs. After he no longer worked there we kept in touch and I had the pleasure of getting to know his family and I consider his daughters the sisters I never had as well and his wife Joann who was just as friendly and kind. I love this man so much that I named my son after him. I always tried to be the man, the father and husband he was and never came close. I could always call him about anything and he would always be there for me. I want to thank his daughter's for letting me in the hospital room during that difficult "family" time. It really meant a lot to me so I just want to say thanks to Katleen, Beth, Erin, and Meghan for sharing your dad with me. I am so glad and lucky to have known such a great man. I will never forget Coach and I miss him already.

David was my Godfather and a great one at that. I'll always remember lots of fond memories and especially ones up North at the house. His memory will stay with me always. A Hui Hou, uncle Dave.
