Daniel Vasto Obituary

Vasto Sr., Daniel Anthony Daniel Anthony Vasto Sr., of Port Charlotte, Florida, born on February 5, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Olive and Frank Vasto, passed away at age 92 on May 29, 2018, in Port Charlotte, Florida. From 1944 to 1946, Daniel served in the Navy. Daniel is survived by his wife, Florence Vasto (nee Smith); son, Dan Vasto (Anita); daughter, Karen den Ouden (Paul); grandchildren, Ryan, Michael (Audrey), Veronica and Alicia; and great-grandchild, Teddy. Daniel was known for his quick wit, sense of humor, and ability to break out into song, especially a song dedicated to his beloved wife. He also volunteered his time for causes he believed in, such as relieving hunger. He did not know a stranger, conversing with everyone he met. Family suggests donations in Daniel's memory to Dementia Society of America and/or Alzheimer's Association. Inurnment with military honors at Sarasota National Cemetery.

Dad: You would have been 95 a few days ago. I no longer grieve, but I still remember. Thank God I can still remember the good times and the laughter. I remember.
