Dan was a great, quiet soul. He taught what he knew, helped maintain peace when times were tough, and was half of one of the best duos in 004, Sheehan n Lyons. He was always there with an answer, but you had to ask, he never volunteered;) He will be sorely missed by the lucky ones who knew him. Condolences to the Sheehan family.

I’d like to send my deepest, heartfelt condolences to the family. I am pleased to have known Dan for all but a year of my nineteen years on the job. Dan ALWAYS took care of me when it came to something that I needed from “the inside” [desk duty] like time due, a change of assignment or if I wanted a detail. I cannot verbalize what that meant to me as a younger Officer and even more so being “a deeper shade of soul”. I can’t recall EVER seeing Dan unhappy. If we weren’t making each other laugh, I could just pass the desk with my usual “What’s up there, Daniel!” and get salutations returned with that snidely grin peeking out from under his mustache like one of Santa’s helpers keeping a secret. Instead of mourning his loss [not easy], I’ll cherish his memory instead.

The things I most remember about Danny was working with him in the 002nd District many years ago. He was always covering your back, no matter what. Most recent memories were seeing him after the St. Jude's parade at the breakfast, talking to him about the good old days. God Bless and You will never be forgotten

Danny was the best partner a guy could have!! We were partners for four years in the 2nd dist. I got to know him very well. I was lucky enough to meet his whole family. Dan. I love you!!!!!!!!!
