Daniel Katz Obituary

Daniel was one of a kind. I don't think I will ever meet anyone as kind, funny, or caring as Daniel was. I know he is in a good place now and he is watching down on his family and friends. My condolences go out to Daniel's family, Jenny, and all of his friends. Rest in peace Daniel. You will always be missed.

I met Daniel about 7 years ago when my guy friends from Northbrook joined ZBT at U of I. Daniel became one of their boys immediately. I am so grateful that I got to know Daniel over the years...every memory I have of him brings a smile to my face. He was truly one of a kind. I know he is now with the family and friends he lost while he was here on earth...bringing smiles and laughter to them like he did to all of us. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I'm forever grateful for the times we shared as young kids -- playing with the sprinkler outside, chasing Sly and Dillon around your house, going to the kiddie show at Mama's house in Nippersink. Those memories will live beyond Daniel's life -- he'll always be with us.

Daniel was always like a brother to me, and I was lucky to have had someone to always look out for me and who I could always count on. His death has left a huge hole in my heart, and I cannot imagine what it will be like to come home and not have him come bouncing through my doorway a few minutes later. I am so deeply sorry that I couldn't have been there to do something, but John and I will forever be grateful to have had him in our lives. There aren't words to describe how much we will miss him, but my thoughts and prayers are with you now.

Daniel touched my life in ways i could never explain. We met on Halloween of my freshman year in HS and were inseparable since. There was a side of him i could never understand until now and I will always regret not being able to help him - as he had helped me during the toughest times in my own life.

he was my best friend and a ray of light in my darkest days and always the one to make me smile. i keep telling myself that we can still love him every day but we never have to worry again. he is at peace.
