I am remiss that I heard of Dan's death today, I was just a friend that is very sorry to hear of his passing. Dan was a great guy who I knew from the St. Dennis , St Thomas Moore neighborhood. We shared a great deal of good times together but lost touch over the years.
God bless.

I remember Mike from the hallways at Mt. Carmel. A really quiet man
who gained the respect of all who came in contact with him. I remember the close relationship he had with his brother Ray who was in my graduating class. A tremendous football player and a tremendous guy-may he now Rest in Peace. He played the game of life for four full quarters and never gave up. The words spoken by Frank Moran in the Tribune Obituary were superb. Go Carmel.

I offer my sincere condolences to the family of Dan Collins; a very good person who I was privileged to work with at the Medical Examiners Office. He was always even tempered, helpful, thoughtful, patient, and far more understanding and steadfast than I could ever have anticipated. I will miss Dan a great deal, for his reasoned, common-sense judgment at work, and for the sensible perspective he offered me during trying times within and without the workplace...
