Coglianese, Daniel Victor

Peacefully, in his Melrose Park home, he closed his eyes and entered thru the Lions Gate on August 8, 2023.

Born, December 19, 1938 to parents Angelo (Coy) and Stella in Oak Park, IL., then remained living in Melrose Park, IL. Parishioner, altar boy and elementary school student, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Melrose Pk-IL, which began grooming him as a man of character, guiding him into becoming a leader for his community. Graduate of Proviso East H.S. Maywood, IL; Graduate of WIU. His career began at Marshall High School in Chicago, IL as an English teacher, and refereeing basketball. Returning back to his home township of Proviso in 1970, he became the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds for School District 89, focus driven on education, jobs, politics and perseverance, for the fairness & stability of the D89 families. A man of many hats, he continued on as the Proviso Township School Treasurer in Westchester, IL for 35 years, until his retirement in 2021.

Danny or DC, known by many as a legacy of doing things "His Own Way". Reflected in growing his family of 10; Love of boating, travel, fishing, cars, gardening, fashion, Wisconsin summer homes, collector of owls, movie buff, sports enthusiast, fine dining, and loved his diners! Other accomplishments; Two time Man of the Year; Opened 1st nationwide, on campus Burger King, Triton College, River Grove, IL; Pepe's Tacos owner; Kiwanis Club; Committee 1st Taste of Melrose Park; Owner Suburban Exterminators; Proviso Township Committee; Mental Health Commission; Educational and financial advocate, Springfield, IL.
