Carla, Aaron, and Rachel. I am saddened with the news of Dan's passing. Carla I enjoyed working with you and Dan and the rest of the gang at Fingerhut. I enjoyed sharing the Huskies tickets with him before the "new rink" was built. He was a great mentor to me and a good friend. I am glad I got back in touch with him last year. Our family's prayers are with you.

Dear Carla, Rachel & Aaron,

We are very saddened to hear about the loss of your beloved Dan. We often saw him as our kids were the same ages and we all had similar activities to attend. We'll remember Dan as always being positive and fun to be with, his unflagging support of his family, and his strong passion for the St. Cloud Huskies. May God bless you all in this difficult time.

I forget how old I was, 8, maybe 9. Dan, Jim Dixon and I were riding in a car with the radio on. I thought my Brother was cool and being able to hang out with his friend made me feel cool. All 3 of us were singing along with the radio and I didn't want the moment to end. But those two quickly stopped singing and it kind of bummed me out.

Dan was 11 years older than me. Old enough to look highly up to, yet too old to relate to. The neat thing about being his younger Brother was, when he went to college I got to use his stuff. Mostly I used his radio that he always forgot I even had.

I'm in Ohio now, too far away to make it to the funeral. In some ways I don't want to be, because I don't want to say good-bye. See with the age gap, Dan and I never really knew each other. I knew him from afar but he never got to watch me change into who I am today. Yet little things from Dan inspired me.

On October 21, 2005 I'm getting the Da Vinci Award. Stevie Wonder won the same award and we almost got to sing together. But Stevie was too busy to come, so I'll be singing alone. But I won't be alone. For the first time, Dan will be able to see me from afar. I think I'll dedicate the moment to him because even though I'm being awarded for my inspiration, family inspires us all. Besides, he never did get his radio back.

To Carla, Aaron and Rachel,

We were so sorry to hear about Dan's passing. Aaron was our goalie on Brad's Bantam hockey team, and we spent alot of time between games with him. And since my other son, Brian was also a goalie, Dan was always asking how it was going with him. I had bumped into Dan a couple of times at Cub, and around Plymouth, and he was always asking how "Batman" Brad and Brian were doing. We were always talking about kids and hockey, and it was always a pleasure to visit with him. We will miss his friendly manner. Your entire family has our deepest sympathies in this tragic loss.

With Sincere Condolences,

Oscar, Dariel, Brad and Brian Hansen

Bullman family: I'm shocked and sadden to hear of your lost. Dan was very kind to my husband, Larry, always offering to pick him up or take him home from work. Larry really appreciated that. I remember when Dan came to our open house he made the comment that 'we wouldn't have far to move when we die being so close to 2- cemetaries'. It was very witty at the time. May God's peace give you strength and comfort during this time.
