 Janis, Clifford D. age 78, U.S.M.C. Veteran of Korean War. Cliff died Friday, May 1, 2009, in Huntington Beach, CA of cardiac and respiratory illnesses. Beloved son of the late John and Gertude Janis, husband of Mildred Leeson-Janis, loving father of Richard (Denise) Janis, Susan (David) Cornish, John Janis, Katie (Bill) Gonzalez and stepfather to Richard Hess, brother to the late Delores (Ted) Ceislik and Geraldine (Wally) Guzik, fond uncle and cousin to many. Cliff was born and raised in the Humbolt Park area of Chicago, graduated from Carl Schurz H.S., worked as an industrial union electrician and skilled handyman. A jazz lover, he loved to travel between California (his other home) and Chicago to visit family and friends. A sponsor for A.A., he truly believed in the program as it changed his life and he helped many others change their life. A private memorial service was held for the family in California.
