"Mr. Marquardt" as I have known him, was first and foremost father to my great friend Mike, but also one who gave tirelessly as a Glenbrook North Booster for our track & field program. As an employer in high school, he gave me insight early on as to what a stellar work ethic truly means. I have many many wonderful memories of "hanging out" at his homes in Glenview and the U.P. with my friend Mike.

I can not say enough kind words about my grandfather. He was a man everybody would admire and want to resemble. I look up to him in so many ways. I am honored to be his grand-daughter. I am honored to have known such a wonderful man. I will forever miss him each and everyday. May he rest in peace with all the angels in heaven, especially my grandmother Mary Liz. I love you, Grandpa!!!!!

We lost a very special brother-in-law.A strong, good man with a gift of patience & extreme generosity of his time. I can't remember a visit to barb & rubes' home when I wasn't greeted first with love, second with can I get you a coke a.b? Rube always managed to find something or someone he thought would be of interest to us..for instance..being animal lovers, he enjoyed sharing stories & showing his great pride in Mary Beth and her critters. It seems as though his children have inherited his especially kind genes. He will be missed by his sister-in-law and her husband! A.B. and Jim

Uncle Rube was a family man with strong religious convictions. He was a man I admired all my life-a perfect "God-father."
