Charles Rumpf Obituary

my brother told me yesterday about the passing of mr rumpf. he was my softball coach in junior high and i will always remember him as a kind and good person. i am happy to have known him.

I just found out tonight of Charlie's passing in April, and am so saddened to hear of the loss of such a nice man. It has been several years since he coached my daughter's traveling softball team when she was in high school, but I remember that we always enjoyed his humor and kindness. My condolences to his family-I am so sorry for your loss.

When I think of Charlie, I think of Chuck Norris and Charlie's Chuck Norris t-shirt with all the funny quotes that helped the team win the 2007 NCAA Nationals. His memory will always bring a smile to my face. My thoughts and prayers are with you Rae and your family during this time of sorrow.

I am incredibly saddened to learn of Mr. Rumpf's passing.

Since the two of us retired, we'd been regular exercise pals at Cardinal Fitness and shared many "war" storeis from our teaching days. Charlie had a wonderful, wry sense of humor, one that meshed well with the regular crowd each morning on Laraway Road. Lord, we'll miss him.

I pray that Mrs. Rumpf and the rest of Charlie's family are comforted and find peace during this difficult time. God bless.

Charlie was a great guy and a spectacular Cougar Fan! He could always be found wearing a Chuck Norris shirt, and had plenty words of "wisdom," to share about the game. It has been an honor to know him, and the family. You have my deepest sympathy.

My condolences to the Rumpf family. It has been so many years since I've seen Charlie - we called him Chas - but whenever I see folks from St Helena of the Cross or Fernwood ( I can still see him sitting on the back of a park bench at Fernwood Park)or Mendel CHS ( I went to Brother Rice and our Rice-Mendel football games were an absolutely brutal way to spend a Sunday afternoon) his name would come up. And whenever I'd meet someone from Eisenhower HS, and ask `do you know Charlie Rumpf', they would all say `oh yeah, I know Charlie.....'. May your hearts be filled with good memories of Charlie.

Very sorry to learn of the passing of Charlie. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. Having such a flood of memories of all the great times spent with Charlie as kids. Wonderful guy will be missed. John Honan
