Charles Hudecek Obituary

Hudecek, Charles Charles Robert "Chuck" Hudecek, age 79, of King's Lane in Newland, the Roaring Creek community, died Sunday, January 20, 2008, at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine, NC. Chuck was a native of Oak Park, Illinois and was the son of the late Frank and Mae Mares Hudecek. He proudly served in the U. S. Marine Corps and was retired from N.A.S.A. with thirty-three years of service where he worked with the space shuttle program in the quality assurance branch. He is survived by his wife Bette Allen Hudecek who loved him dearly and will forever miss his love and companionship. In addition to his wife he is survived his daughter, Betty J. Green of Ruffin, NC; sons, William C. Hudecek and wife, Ginger of Titusville, FL, and Bruce A. Hudecek and wife, Bonnie of Winter Springs, FL; ten grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. A gathering of friends will be on Saturday, January 26, 2008, from 1 until 2 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to: American Cancer Society, 120 Executive Park, Building 1, Asheville, NC 28801.
