Charles Claytor Obituary

VIRGINIA BEACH - Charles 'Buster' R. Claytor Sr., 69, passed away on Monday, July 5, 2004. Buster was born in Richmond, Va., on Oct. 24, 1934. He had a sales career that carried him from several cash register companies to his present position with Coastal Business Systems for the past five years. Buster coached the basketball and football programs for many years for the Woodstock Recreation Association in Virginia Beach. He was a member of St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church and had been active in the Men's Club. Due to illness, he had been attending St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hampton. Buster was also a member of the U.S. Navy Reserves. He leaves behind his former wife, Martha A. Claytor; two daughters, Melany Trenary and husband, Rick, of Salisbury, Md., and Michelle Jenkins and husband, Troy, of Suffolk, Va.; one son, Chip Claytor and wife, Julia, of Virginia Beach; nine grandchildren; and a nephew, Stephen Van Cleef of Midlothian, Va. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Friday in St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church, Virginia Beach, with Father Luke Policicchio officiating. Burial will be private. Family and friends will be received at the home of Chip and Julia Claytor in Virginia Beach this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Heartland Home Health Care and Hospice, 5040 Corporate Woods Drive, Suite 450, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may also be shared at www.kellumfuneralhome.com.
