O'Brien, Catherine R. "Amy" (nee Leahy), age 86, beloved wife of the late Thomas, loving mother of Kathleen (Robert) Potter and Thomas O'Brien, dearest grandmother of Colleen (John) Boulanger, Carolyn, Gina (Barry) Dever, Gail and the late Robert and Daniel Potter, great-grandmother of five, dear sister of the late Daniel, AnneMarie, Margaret and Mary, fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. A Gold Star member of St. Gabriel's Women's Club. A member of St. Gabriel's Friendly Club and the Boyce Park Seniors. A lifelong resident of the Canaryville neighborhood. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Gabriel Church Building Fund, 4522 S. Wallace St., Chicago, IL, 60609. Funeral Monday, 9:15 a.m., from Thomas McInerney's Sons Funeral Home, 4635 S. Wallace St., to St. Gabriel Church for Mass of the Resurrection at 10 a.m. Visitation Sunday, 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Interment St. Mary Cemetery. 773-268-0703

I wish to express my condolences to Amy's family. I sat at her table at the Friendly Club for many years prior to my moving from Canaryville. She was a dear friend and will be missed by many. I will keep her in my prayers.
