What a great loss for all of the Boyle and Furman families! Katie was one of those rare people you meet once in your life who embraced life and love to the fullest. What a gift to our world and what a gift that she touched so many lives in meaningful ways. I knew Katie in grade school and high school and I could see her goodness so clearly back then. Our paths went different ways, she married and I entered the convent. But I always smiled whenever I thought of Katie. She is with her God now and we all will join her one day when our time comes. May the Boyle and Furman families know the comfort of God, family and friends. My deepest sympathies to all.

Dear Robo and Family,
My heart is heavy in knowing that Katie has died. Katie and I went to High School together and we were very close friends. I spent alot of time at the Furman household as a teenager. She was a vibrant and joyful person and a very good friend! We have kept in touch over the years with our family Christmas cards and St. Thomas Aquinas HS reunions. I know your loss and grief is very deep. Remember that nothing can bring us great sorrow that has not first brought us great joy! Remembering with you and the family all of the joy Katie broutht. God watch over you!
Lovingly and with DeepestSadness,

I'm so sorry that I was unable to be at the funeral Mass. I just heard of Katie's passing late this afternoon ~ just a a few hrs after the Mass. I first knew Katie as a young mother...Mary Kate and my daughter Vanessa were good friends and often had play dates together. Bobby was an infant. What a fun young Mom she was!!!! Always laughing....finding the good and humor in every situation. How she loved her babies! I moved and we lost track, but on the occasion I would see her, she was always her fun loving self. A few years ago I joined her Current Events group and we were passionate liberal allies. She would on occasion show up with a chic scarf tied round her head and I was aware she had cancer. She handled it with the ease and straightforwardness that she handled 5 young children. She took cancer in her stride. It was remarkable. Cancer was a problem to be delt with for sure, but not something to obsess about. Her courage and fortitude was impressive. I thought she would live forever. How sorry I am to hear otherwise. Robo and beloved kids, you were blessed to have such a strong, feisty, smart, beautiful, FUN, woman in your life. You were/ARE lucky to have her as your own.
God bless you all. May the gift of time ease your pain so you can remember the good times and smile thinking of that fascinating blond you married and the special special Mom who raised you. She loved you dearly.
