I am deeply hurt at the loss of Carol
We met at a hosptial lecture about our shared disorder FMS. It was friendship from the start She was not like the oher woman who wanted to talk about their pains and fatigue. Carol and I left out the negative comments She would say things that made me and others laugh. Everytime I saw or spoke with here I was lifted out of my problems and came back to laughing and smiling If only we could bottle her gift to give out true lightening of the spirit for herself and others Dende
you like carol are a true mench So glad I got a chance to be a part of Carol's life Please call me now or if you are in Chicago May the love and laughter be in your heart. Carol will be in my heart and brought to my mind
I know I will not find another Carol but I am so glad to have know her will for a short time.

Reading about Carol's death in the South Shore newsletter, I went to the site of information and guest book to see what others might have said. My memories came flooding back as I thought of all the fun times in high school, particulary some of the high school sorority (Delta Omega Lambda "DOL's) events for which Carol applied her special talents for writing songs, etc. She was always clever and fun. May she rest in peace.

Dear Dendy and Family,

I was so sad to hear about Carol's death. I was a good friend of Roberta's (mostly in high school) and the last time I saw Carol was at Roberta's Memorial Service at Unity in Chicago.

I didn't know Carol well, except as Roberta's big sister, but I remember how kind and intelligent she was.

My condolences to all of you,

Kiya Immergluck

I didn't know Carol well, but felt like I did through the funny, heart-warming columns Wendell wrote and read at our Ft. Laud. Writers' Group. Carol always played a starring role as the loving wife, who was nonetheless quick to put her ''cantankerous'' husband in his place. It seemed their marriage was solidly built on a foundation of love, mutual respect and humor (not to mention a whole lot of patience on Carol's part!).

My condolences to the family. Carol was a wonderful soul.

Dear Uncle Dendy, Amy, Joel, and family,

We all loved Aunt Carol, and will miss her very much. She was wonderful, vibrant, exceptionally witty, and always fun to be around. I can still close my eyes and see her now, through Uncle Dendy's pipe smoke. Our family's thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Love,

David and Jill Gordon
and the extended Gordon family

Dear Wendell, Amy, and Joel,

I am thinking of Carol and smiling! She and I spent many wonderful days together at Tele-Tune. Larry Glazer called to inform me of her death.
Carol was so wonderfully witty, droll, and sophisticated. She introduced me to delicious kugele and to toasted avocado sandwiches. Carol threw her heart and soul into those special lyrics songs and the end result was always intellectual, raucous, and oh so funny. My deepest condolences to you all. She loved you all very much.

Carol and I wrote "Porthole Peeks" for the Shoreline (South Shore High newspaper) in the 1950's. Her talent as a writer was evident. I remember her beautiful smile and personality.
My deepest sympathies to the entire family.

Dendy...my brother, John, called tonight and told me of Carol's passing. Although I never had the pleasure of meeting her, he knew her well and worked closely with her during their Highland Park Chamber of Commerce days. And of course, knowing of OUR long-time friendship, he asked that I share his condolences along with my own. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family in this time of sadness; we wish you strength and peace.

Dear Wendell and family,

I learned of Carol's passing in today's Chicago Tribune. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. While we certainly did drift away from the closeness we enjoyed during our Pakula days, I still remember those times fondly. I'm occasionally in touch w/Jim Axelrad, and have even purchased a computer from him. His wife, Suzie, is a marketer as well.

Know that you are remembered here in Chicagoland.

Best, Gerry linda ([email protected])
