I will always remember Calvin's laugh and the way he would duck his head and smile. I have great memories of growing up with him and his sense of humor. Conversations with him were like taking a long, meandering walk in the country, always interesting and fun. I know he is pain free, walking and playing with a band again, but I will forever miss him. Calvin and I met in 1981 at Columbus Hospital where we worked together for ten years. I will always remember his humor and wit. We were skiing buddies and really learned to ski on the icy slopes of the Midwest. I was always impressed with his musical background. He played with Sonny Stitt and could've had a career in music but said he got tired of living on the road and preferred to settle down and have a family. He had great values and I always admired how he dealt with life's challenges. May he rest in the fullness and joy of a life well lived!

Calvin went through some tough times over the last couple of years, but I remember how he would always keep his sense of humor about him. I'm grateful for the way he welcomed me into his family. He will be missed.
