Bud Solk, 87, beloved husband for more than 60 years of the late Donna Solk (nee Shkoler), died August 7. He was the loving father of Gail (Rick) Whitehouse, Greg (Katherine) Solk, and Tracey (Chris) Ernst, cherished grandfather of Blake, Megan, Hailee, Payton, Hannah, Cole, Connor, Kelsea and Megan, and dear brother of the late Aldine Weingart. A prominent and influential Chicago advertising and marketing executive for decades, he was founder and president of Bud Solk & Associates. A proud graduate of John Marshall Jr. High School on Chicago's West Side, he was an active member of the "Great Vest Side Club of Chicago." He also was a generous supporter and fundraiser for Little City Foundation, B'nai B'rith Sports Lodge and Jewish United Fund. He cherished his family more than anything and also had deep lifelong friendships both in Chicago and South Florida. Service Thursday 10 AM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Blvd., (at Niles Center Road) Skokie. Interment Memorial Park. Shiva to be held Thursday 12pm-7pm at the DoubleTree Hotel, Versailles Room, 9599 Skokie Blvd., Skokie.
