Is this the same Bruce that lived on the 3700W block of 55th Place in Chicago as a kid?

Dear Sally, Sarah, Andrew, and David,
I can remember working at SK Hand Tool with Sue and hearing these stories about your amazing husband and father, how he constantly faced and overcame one obstacle after another. This was long before I met Bruce and his great family at Q of U. Those were some great days at Q of U,...the Las Vegas Nights, coaching the boys in basketball, and Sarah babysitting young Joe. Bruce was always a symbol of perserverance & will power to all of us who had the pleasure of knowing him. He had a great sense of humor and always a good joke to tell. I always say a parent's life work is reflected in their "children," their "family." The Neberieza (God, how many times did I misspell that name in the scorebook during those basketball years!) family, those three great kids, now grown up adults themselves, are a reflection of Bruce's commitment to his family and how he always remained involved in all they did. Sally, you and Bruce have three of the nicest young people Ellan and I have ever met. We were both shocked and saddened to read about Bruce in the SW News Herald which I still subscribe to by mail from CA. It is a great loss for everyone as Bruce was a wonderful man. He will be missed.
Please tell Sarah, Andrew and David we asked about them and hope they are well. I think about your boys often.

Dear Sally, It must be fate that brought me to this site and which allows me to convey my deepest sympathy for one of the really great quality human beings I have ever met. I worked with Bruce in Grand Crossing and we bowled, and played softball and basketball together. He was a great guy who was dealt some bad cards and made the most of it. I always admired his grit. I was actually checking the death notices to find arrangements for my cousins husband Harry Collins, a former Detective from the north side who passed away on Monday. I am so glad to be able to tell you how sorry I am and I'm sure they would have to add hundreds of pages to this book if all of the other retired officers knew of Bruces passing. Once again you have our deepest sympathy and God Bless You and the Family.

Dear Sally, Sarah, Andrew and David:
It is 11:30 p.m. I just got to reading the newspaper and I must say I am in total shock. I read the obituary 5 times just to make sure I was seeing things right. No one called me. If only I had known sooner. McGann's is less than 5 minutes from my house, I would have been there today. And I am sure Elaine and Laura would have too. I will try to run there in the morning with the kids But if I do not make it let me say now, Our sincerest condolences to the entire Neberieza Family. Bruce was a strong, loving, often funny and well respected man and he will truly be missed. I cannot even begin to recall ALL of the fond memories I have of not only growing up around Bruce and D.G.'s but also the fun I had working Tuesday night Bingo for him for 10 years. It was a pleasure to know him and all of you my entire life. Once again, my deepest sympathy and you are all in my prayers. Love:

Dear Sally and family,
We are very sorry for your loss. IF there is anything we can do to help, PLEASE do not hesitate to call us. It is during times like this that you sit and reflect on memories from the past. We sure did have some wonderful times together, bowling from the YMCA, going to the Post, sharing our wedding days together, dinners at your apartment, parties at our apartment, driving down flooded streets, monthly dinners out with our group (one especially funny one was when Bruce thought the waiter said bikini, not zucchini) Boy, those were the days that memories are built on. Thanks to Bruce we have these wonderful memories from the past. We might have lost touch in the past ten years, BUT no one can ever erase the good times we had.
May God be with you and yours.
Sally, Sorry I didn't come to pay my respect, but you know how I am about attending wakes and funerals.
Fondly, Susan

I'd like to tell Bruce what a good friend he was, but its too late. I'll always remember him as the hardest working Legionaire I have ever met. To me, Bruce was the savior of the Darius-Girenas American Legion Post. He worked tiressly for two decades running the bingo's and held many offices at our Legion Post and was always a voice of reason at the board meetings. His positive attitude about life in generel attracted people to him as if he were a magnet. Bruce rarely took credit for all he did, but always praised others for the job they did, big or small. I know Bruce will be missed by many. His life touched thousands of people. Thousands. Thats something most of us can never say. Bruce was my best friend and I will miss him. I can't find the words to describe it. My condolences to Sally, Sara, David, Andrew, Vince, and Bernice.
All seem like family for all we've shared over the years at the Legion functions. God bless Bruce. He's in heaven now organizing things. I'm sure.
