So my darling, it is one year. I'm still quite insane with grief. Sometimes, I have moments of happiness, but most times my life, as it is, is overshadowed with the sadness of not having you here. You are my first thought upon waking, my last thought before sleep. Your soul still courses through my body. I love you, I miss you. Mom

Brett: The impact of your leaving has been nothing less than profound. Keep your brother in Arizona within your careful watch for he has absolutely changed since you left and I am so worried about him. Like parent and child ...brother to brother...bonds that cannot be broken by anything!! I am keeping your smile with me...dear Brett!! (Mom) Karen

Brett,
My only child, my only son, how I wish I could have taken your place my lovely child. You saved so many lives, you suffered so much in the past two years with surgeries. I ask God why did this happen? Why? My only baby! As you know Justin Kyman died last year in a fatal car crash. His dad and I talked for over an hour. He said he spoke to a minister who said, "God is a gardener, and sometimes he wants to pick the lovliest flowers for his personal garden." That is what keeps me going my son, my darling baby. And knowing that someday, I will see you in Heaven. Thank you for the gift of your life. Thank you for saving so many lives while you walked on earth. Thank you God for letting me have one of your children for a brief time.

Bretts mom,

I learned the news too late and regret not being able to be at the services. You have an angel now. As I told my own mom what had happened, I explained that Bretts parents were his two best friends. Brett was wonderful, always recognizing the good in the people and appreciating life more than most do. I'll never forget him or his million dollar smile.

Linda, I am so saddened to hear the news about Brett. I too went thru this last year when my son Justin Kyman (Brett's friend in AZ) was killed in a car accident. I don't know if you will remember me, but you are truly in my prayers. No one should ever have to go thru the heart ache that you are going thru. When you feel up to it call me sometime if you need any support.

What can I say? Brett was a great guy. I have never met someone who had such a great mind and a really kind heart.

I have never met someone ever so loyal and caring and or even just a friend to confide in as B. I send my deepest prayers out to his family and friends.

Rest In Peace friend. I will always cherish the memories we had be it good or bad.

Dear Family, Lynda, I haven't spoken to you in so long...Brett, I am sorry. "A brief candle; both ends burning
An endless mile; a bus wheel turning
A friend to share the lonesome times
A handshake and a sip of wine
So say it loud and let it ring
We are all a part of everything
The future, present and the past
Fly on proud bird
You're free at last."

Brett will always be our crazy-joyful nephew jammin' to the drum of those around him. He was inspirational to all who knew him. He was the most loving son to his mother and caring confidant to his father. The memory of his selfless life will live on forever in all of us.
