Dear Kerry and family,

It has been many years but when someone described your son as looking just like you Kerry, I could picture him perfectly. As my memory of you is young and vibrant, so your memory of Bret will remain. Absolutely no one knows the pain of the loss of a child, unless you have gone through it. I know of no greater loss. I do know that time helps. I can tell from the notes from others that your family is loved and supported and I know that must give you comfort. He sounds like a special guy who will be remembered by many. Warmly, Becky

Kerry and Denny,

After sending my note to you, I read the story in the Tribune and was grateful to know that much more about your wonderful son Bret. He was a picture image of Kerry. I sent a note to the writer of the article and to the Tribune editor, praising Jennifer Skalka's compassionate telling of Bret's story, as well as his two friends. I read similar letters in the Trib yesterday. My heart is breaking for you. You are in my prayers.

Dear Kerry, DR, Scot, and Chelsea,

I am so sorry for your loss. It wearies my heart to see a family such as yours have to go through something as tragic as this. Bret was loved by many; he had so many talents and ways of bringing laughter to every situation. There are so many times that I've shared with him that I will never forget and will cherish for the rest of my days. I feel so privelaged to have dated him, and I will continue to love and keep him in my heart as I have the past few years.

Sincerely, Andrea Woodyatt

Dear Kerry, Denny, Scot and Chelsea,

My earliest memory of Bret is him as a young boy who had his own sense of style and often showed up for a haircut in a crazy get-up. He delighted in flicking the cut hair off of the cape, onto my mirror and then take part in target practice with my water bottle. I always looked forward to seeing Bret(as I do all of you)and will remember him as the smiley faced boy I met many years ago.

I hope that all of the beautiful memories that you have of Bret will bring a smile through your tears. We were all blessed to have known him and will continue to be thankful for all of the happy times he shared with us.

I am sorry for your loss. Words can hardly explain the magnitude of sorrow that I and so many are feeling for you all. Please know that my thoughts are of you and prayers for your peace will continue.

You have all been of great comfort to many, do not hesitate to call on me if I can in any way be of comfort.

My deepest sympathy,

Rochelle Seput

Rademakers-

May God lead you through your pain and give you comfort when you need it. I had the pleasure of knowing Bret through HF broadcasting and he left nothing but but a good impression on me. He was a very talented, good humored guy. He will definately be missed and we are all very fortunate to have known him.

Please accept our deepest sympathy for the loss of your son Brett. The news deeply touched our family. Our son Matt, swam and played water polo against Brett for New Trier and was thrilled to have his "rival" down the hall at Miami. Their friendship grew quickly beyond the love of the sport. I've heard Matt speak of Brett's athletic abilities, his sense of humor and his kind heart. He will be dearly missed. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. May God give you the strength you need.

Dear Dr. Denny Rademaker, Kerry, Scot and Chelsea, Mick and Nina and all of your family,

I am deeply saddened for your most untimely loss. No one knows the how or whys of Gods' plan, but I am sure of the love that all had for Bret. Though I met Bret years ago and was blessed to have heard of his many accomplishments from his very loving and proud grandfather Mick, I cannot possibly, within the context of this medium, express the full extent of my compassion and sympathy. May God Bless you all and may His mercy and guidance give you comfort. My thoughts and condolences to the utmost.

Dear Kerry, Denny, Scott and Chelsea,

Please know that our entire family is keeping yours in our prayers everyday. The best memory that continues to surface took place at Scott and John's graduation last May when Bret, Peter and Kenny's younger brother finally met and had such a good time together . . . in spite of the mess that was known as "Life at the Dresden." Apparently a clean house was not very important to any of the brothers; just the moms.

God bless all of you,

Karen and Steve
