Boonsong Rohitasuke

Boonsong "Boon" Rohitasuke was born on January 23, 1926 in Pathum Thani, Thailand to Kunesuthivoravart (Prasit) and Mali Rohitasuke. He passed away on October 13, 2012. In Thailand he received his Bachelor's Degree in architecture with honors in 1949 from Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand, and he received scholarships to continue his studies in England, the Netherlands, and Cornell University in the U.S. He was professor of architecture at Chulalongkorn University for 28 years. He designed numerous buildings in and around Bangkok and for the university campus. He came to the U.S. with his family in 1977. While in the U.S., he worked as an architect and senior draftsperson. He was an active member of the Siam Sangkit Thai music group in Seattle and the Thai Golf Association of Washington. He enjoyed gardening, painting, and preparing a variety of Thai dishes for his many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Prapaipis, and sisters Chalorluck and Siriporn. He is survived by his brothers, Boonchoo and Somsak, sister, Boonchuen, his sons, Vasnin Rohitasuke and wife Jureerat and Pavin Rohitasuke, his daughters, Anutara Panomvana and husband Mark Smith, Pinapis Del Rosario and husband Henrily, and Alisara Edens and husband Mark, and his grandchildren, Khempira and Chadatarn Panomvana, Adeline and Clarissa Del Rosario, and Kenji Rohitasuke. Viewing will be held Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home at 11111 Aurora Avenue North, Seattle. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 22, 2012 at 1:15 p.m. at the same location.
