Bonnie McKenzie Obituary
Bonnie A. McKenzie, age 70, of Oak Forest, passed away on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2024 at RML Specialty Hospital in Hinsdale. Bonnie was born on December 6, 1953, beloved daughter of the late Anna and Walter McKenzie, Founder of McKenzie Funeral Home; loving sister of the late Charles K. (Arlene) and Robert D. McKenzie; fond aunt of Kathleen (Michael McNamara). Bonnie was an avid dog lover and she donated to multiple charities for animals. She also enjoyed gardening and cooking when she could find the time. Bonnie was an accomplished bowler and won many trophies from bowling tournaments and her leagues. Bonnie was the 2nd generation owner/manager of McKenzie Funeral Home, which has been in Oak Forest since the late 1940's.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 8, 3:00 to 8:00 pm; Funeral Tuesday, July 9th at 9:15 am from McKenzie Funeral Home, 15618 S. Cicero, Oak Forest to St. Damian Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am; Interment St. Benedict Cemetery in Crestwood. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in her name to PAWS of Tinley Park or the American Cancer Society. For more information please contact McKenzie Funeral Home at 708-687-2990.

Bonnie handled my husband's funeral and earlier then that, our preplanning set up. She was a kind, efficient, professional, and extremely interesting person. My condolences to all her family and friends.
