Betty Mapp Obituary
Betty Ann "Betty Boop" Mapp age 73, of Dolton, Illinois passed away Friday, April 2, 2021. She is survived by her beloved husband James Mapp. Loving mother of Jeffrey (Jennifer) Anderson, Jason (Pui "Alex" )Anderson and cherished grandmother of Katelyn, Kyle, Kasey, Kourtrey, and Noah. Betty was preceded in death by her loving parents Lyndell and Louise Weldon and sister Judith Anderson. Funeral services for Betty will be held Friday, April 9, 2021 at 7:00 PM at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Road, Lansing, Illinois with Deacon Jim Renwick officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 PM until time of service. Betty was a devoted, loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Betty dedicated her life to teaching children for over 30 years at Deneen Elementary School in Chicago. Betty also enjoyed gardening, bowling, trips to Vegas, the Chicago Bulls and other Chicago sports teams. She enjoyed listening to Prince "Purple Rain" and her favorite color was purple. She was an animal lover and she had numerous cats and dogs her entire life. "Betty Boop" was loved by many and she will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Betty's name to the National Alliance of Metal Illness foundation. www.schroederlauer.com
