Betty Buckner Obituary

Betty Buckner, 70, Anderson, passed away November 21, 2007, at Community Hospital in Anderson after a brief illness.

She was born August 11, 1937, in Anderson, the daughter of Roy M and Marie (Friend) Ogburn. She was a homemaker, attended the Belmont Bible Church and loved crafts, sewing, quilting and was an avid bowler in several leagues.

She is survived by five children, Thomas J wife Alida Buckner, Jr. of Anderson, Katherine E. Armstrong and companion Lonnie Fish of Chesterfield, Anna M. and husband Randy Counceller of Anderson, Roy “Jimmy” and wife Peggy Buckner of Anderson, Sarah Jane and husband James McArthur of Markleville; grandchildren, Jeremy Bousman, Michael Woods, Misty and husband David Knutson, Mitchell Armstrong, Shawn and wife Missy Counceller, Stephen Counceller and companion Alice Berry, Mellissa Ramsey, Kelly and husband Robby Allman, R.J. and wife Andrea Buckner, Nichole Buckner, Nichel McArthur and fiancé Cory Moore, Stephanie McArthur and fiancé Jonah Dawson; great grandchildren, Jessica Knutson, Jaimi Bales, Kyle Knutson, Mercedes Armstrong, Brett Counceller, Alexa Counceller, Brianna Ramsey, Taylor Ramsey, Alexis Ramsey, Kylee Allman, Landon Allman, Charly Allman, Colton Moore, Christian Dawson, Tristan Johns, Brandon Berry, Morgan Berry; brothers and sisters, Patricia Spaulding of Shipshewana, uncle Bill Roy and wife Marilyn Ogburn, Rex and wife Margie Ogburn, Joanne Holland, Ronna Ogburn all of Anderson and several nieces and nephews; in-laws, Elsie and husband Harold Norrick, Grover and wife Betty Buckner, Charles and wife Mary Buckner, Anna Rohr, Roy Gene and wife Debbie Buckner, and a special thanks to M.C. and wife Naomi Buckner; also surviving are her loving dogs “Zoe” and “Sugar”.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Buckner, Sr.; a son, John F. Buckner; daughter, Tamara Buckner; grandson, Travis Bousman; sister, Jackie McCord, uncle, Albert Friend.

Service will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home with Rev. Richard True officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Baptist Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
