Schmetterer, Benjamin A. age 81, beloved husband of Audrey, (nee Berman) for 54 wonderful years, proud father of Dr. Lawrence (Dr. Susan Woods) Schmetterer, David (Jarede) Schmetterer and Sari (James) Ghiselli, loving grandpa of Samuel, Maxwell, Jacob, Zachary and Brandon Schmetterer and Noah Ghiselli, dearest brother of the Honorable Judge Jack (Barbara Friedman) Schmetterer, son of the late Samuel and Gertrude Schmetterer. Ben was the founder and CEO of Crawford Laboratories. Chapel service Tuesday, 12:15 p.m., at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 Rand Rd., Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Inf: 847-255-3520.
