Beatrice Young Obituary

Young, Beatrice J. "Mama Bea" A former manager of food service for Assumption Parish schools, she died Thursday, March 16, 2006, at her home in Labadieville. She was 97 and a native of Thibodaux. Visiting at Williams & Southall Funeral Home, Napoleonville, on Friday, March 24, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Visiting at New Belmont Baptist Church in Labadieville on Saturday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Johnny Johnson. Burial in the church cemetery. Survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria and Billy Stephney of Richmond, Calif., and Rosa and Orea Pace of Labadieville; son, Leroyal Young of Labadieville; 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, a step-child and eight step-grandchildren. She is also survived by a devoted cousin, Alice Lorthridge; devoted friends, Shaun and Jinel Sawyer; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Moses Young Sr.; son, Moses Young Jr.; four sisters, Frances Della, Stella Jacquot, Elnora Thibodaux and Hattie Moore; and four brothers, Earl, Joe, Walter and Enis Jones.
