Barry Lind Obituary

One of my pledge brothers at Tau Delta Phi/NU, We would study and study, then hit Howard & Paulina for a few night caps! Great freshman year! Wonderful guy!

I worked for Lind on the CME trading floor many years mainly at the Currency desk. BJ was a great man and I was deeply saddened upon finding out about his death. I have many great memories of my time working for 532 but would say my GREATEST memory, and the one that shows his character, is the fact that after the market crash in 1987, Lind~Waldock was the only company that did NOT cut any staff. Others were handing out termination slips as early as the next day. BJ instead instituted a pay freeze. No one received a raise for over a year, but at LEAST we all still had our jobs and a paycheck.
BJ, you are missed and as a former employee, I will ALWAYS hold you in great esteem and with great affection.

Something made me think of Barry & you today & Aspen...so I googled Barry & was devastated to learn of his passing.
Barry was instrumental in my developing confidence in myself as a young person. I will never forget the advise he once gave me that has seen me through tough times in my life & kept me grounded and able to succeed as a happy confident adult. Barry showed me that there was good and honest business in the financial sector. He gave me a break when I needed to find a career. He valued truth and did things that did not always pay for themselves, but that made his vision "Lind-Waldock" into a company that other's modeled themselves after. He was always easy to talk to and be candid with. I shall always be grateful to him for my career and the wonderful memories in the LW family.
