Former Lisle, IL resident Barbara Rudd, 78, passed away January 31, 2021.

Barbara was born August 19, 1942, in Chicago, IL, to Martin and Anna (Jacobi) Furlan. She graduated from Bowen High School and soon after married James Rudd. Barbara was a wife, mother, and homemaker. She and Jim worked in insurance for many years and lived in the suburban Chicago area most of their lives. Barbara and Jim were married for 50 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her younger sister Susan Huntzinger of Los Angeles, and husband Jim.

She is survived by her daughter Deb (John Mathieu), son Martin Rudd (Karrie Gabel), grandchildren Nick, Alex and Eric, nieces and nephews Erica Huntzinger, George (Kathy) Newberg, Susan (Joe) Kucharski, James (Michelle) Newberg, Laurie Tamborino, Jeff Bartuch, and many cousins.

At her request, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, enjoy your favorite drink and make a toast to Barbara.

Barb and I shared a lot of nice times together. She had a heart of gold. She would color in her coloring books while I painted and we'd share a cup of tea and her favorite ritz crackers and Phil. cream cheese w/honey and pecans. I can still hear her saying ummmmm. We were always kidding each other and laughing. Good times. Miss her.

Barbara was an amazing women! I had the pleasure of living down the hall from her for the past two years, and will miss her dearly. She had more energy and spunk then a women half her age, and never failed to put a smile on my face when we would cross paths in the hallways. She told things how they were, never beat around the bush, and it was one of the things I loved most about her. We lost a very good, kind, funny soul in Barbara, and she will be missed by many in the Abbey community.

Barb, I miss you already. I am going to really miss my crazy lady. You were my kind of people. Crazy and so much fun. We have had some really good times and some wonderful talks. I will miss our banter back and forth so much. Know that when you get to heaven don't question it, okay? JUST GO IN and don't ask questions!! The college kids are going to miss you also. My friend I have been honored to know you for the few years that we were lucky to have together as great neighbors and friends. Oh, also in this case it is okay that you leave your door unlocked!!!
