Barbara was a long time companion to my Dad and very supportive to him which was much appreciated since I have lived so far away. Sympathies to her family.

I was actually friends with Barbara. We did share the same first name so it was natural. One time when I was in town about a year ago. I went to her house for breakfast. I always burn my bacon but she made it soft and yummy. I will miss seeing her on my visits. I wish I could be there to say good bye. She was a great lady.
My deepest sympathy,
Barb Hertel

Barbara was the long-time companion of my grandfather Carl Skalla. Grandpa was always happiest when he was with Barbara, and she stuck closely by his side through his cancer diagnosis, treatment, and eventual passing. She took me in for a while when I was in medical school when I was between leases and still had rotations scheduled. Barbara always had a smile and a good laugh for me, a woman with a big and generous heart. Barbara never missed sending a birthday card to my kids, and we kept in touch several times a year, even after grandpa passed on. She will be truly missed, but her kind spirit will live on.

Barbara was a lovely woman. I met her through my Uncle Carl his companion for many years. After Carl passed on, I would see her with my mom for Chinese food when I was in town. I live in New York City. She was always quick to laugh and smart and kind. She will be missed. My sympathy to her family.

I only knew Barbara as the Companion to Carl Skalla. She was always sweet, friendly and helpful. She was always supportive of Carl and his Barbershop Quartet friends. Her home was always open for Board meetings and other gatherings. After Carl passed she kept in touch with us and attended many of our functions.
She will be missed
