With heartfelt sympathy I offer my condolences to my wonderful cousins Vivian, Elaine and Brian on the loss of your mother, Barbara Jean May.
My heart hurts as I mourn the loss of my Auntie Barbara. She was always my favorite Aunt. She filled holidays, vacations and ordinary visits with love and laughter. Aunt Barbara was never a person that you kept at a distance. She loved being a huge part of all her family members. I have so many happy memories of her while I grew up. Can't think of any other adult that would join me on a coaster wagon ride down a hilly road in Lake Geneva! We laughed so hard when we found out her son Scott was running behind us the whole way because his hand was stuck behind her. He was only supposed to give us a push!
Auntie Barbara took me out for my first Italian beef sandwich and boy, was it good! I remember it being 55 cents. Is that possible?
As the years went by, I enjoyed seeing how happy Aunt Barbara was with her growing family. We never had a conversation where she didn't "boast" about her darling granddaughters and later great grandchildren.
She would always express her love and concern for my family as well.
Aunt Barbara, you were one of a kind! Although our hearts are so heavy with sadness now, we know that we will always enjoy all the happy memories we shared with you. Our lives are richer and happier because of you.
I pray everyday for our Lord and Savior to take you into His loving arms.
May you rest in eternal peace and enjoy the company of your beloved children, parents, brothers, sisters in law, and friends. I can picture my parents, Leonard and Dorothy Szaltis sharing some coffee and laughter with you. Someday we will all meet again.
See you later Aunt Barbara,
Your loving niece,
Deb O'Bannon
