Mom,

You were the most amazing, kind, giving person that I have ever had the honor of meeting in my entire life. Daddy found an angel when he picked you to raise his whole family, I'm not sure how you survived everything that you have been through your whole life, from losing your parents at an early age to raising all of those kids. You were truly an inspiration to me as a mother, I don't know how to handle such a major loss in my life but you have always taught us to stick together and we could survive anything and so far that has worked so we will continue to follow your advice. Shawn and Erin are going to be lost without your influence in their lives but you gave them an excellent start from the beginning and you enriched their lives immensely. Your words will be lived by, they remember everything that you taught them while you listened intently to their thirst for advice. All three of you had a pact so they know exactly what to do and what you expect of them.

I will take care of Shawn and Katy, it's going to rough for awhile but again, we will stick together and raise Shawn and Erin, together. We remember what you always said, "it takes a village to raise a child in this world." They are lucky like I was to have 2 mothers guiding them, Katy is an extension of you and the best Godmother to both of them that they could have ever imagined. Their bond will continue to get stronger as time goes on...

As far as Shawn, you were his life, his world every day that he woke up. You were his main focus, taking care of you, making you as comfortable as possible and keeping you happy when things got rough. He will miss your daily phone calls and interaction, you did an incredible job in raising the boy that eventually became my "prize pony." I know it was hard for you to let him go, but he never really left, we just shared him together. He is "Your Perfect Son" as well as a great husband and father and it is all attributable to you (and Daddy) and I have always thanked you both for allowing him to be in my life every chance that I got.

Mom, we all told you this every day, I LOVE YOU and cherish every memory that we made together from the wedding to the births of my children, to all of the fun times that we made memories of, up until now. I am honored to be your daughter-in-law and will continue to thank God for your presence and influence for the rest of my life....

Love, Kathy
