It has been eleven years. Since then, Shirley has joined him and so has my wife Juanita. We shared so many memories. I miss all of them and the wonderful times we had together.

50th Anniversary in Acapulco 1988

March 24, 2010

To Arturo and Shirley's family.

This photo of Arturo and Shirley's 50th anniversary renewal of vows in Acapulco 1988 brings back such wonderful memories.

After one year this guest book should now reflect the wonderful memories that Arturo left us.

Yes we still mourn but Arturo said to carry on and that means be happy and enjoy the happy memories that he left us.

This 1988 picture was in Acapulco when we celebrated their 50th anniversary. We laugh when we see it. It happens that in the catering arrangements, instructions were given to prepare for a toast. Well the instructions were misinterpreted and we all had a slice of white toast at the tables. So we toasted !!!!!

Our prayers and Condolences go out to the family of Arturo, although we never met, he was my fathers brother and a very loved and respected man in the community. I have read over the years of his many accomplishments and regret letting the opportunity pass to have met my uncle. He lived a long and fulfilled life, it is an honor to call him family!

To the Velasquez families:

May your hearts be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

We are sadden but Arturo gave so much of himself in so many ways so as to leave us with countless good memories to soften the saddness.

Everytime we recall a memory it is a happy one that brings us good feelings. Even a not-so-good memory is turmed into a joyful one because of the way Arturo would sometimes make fun of it. He was good at that

We recall a couple of decades ago when Arturo was at the podium for one of Bishop Rodriguez's banquets; he said "I tell God that I am not ready to leave this earth because there is still a lot of work to do".

God listened and gave Arturo the extra time.

And all of us are thankfull to God for letting us have Arturo for so long.
