Stahl, Arthur, J. Army Veteran, WWII, age 94, born in Chicago, Aug. 27, 1909. Graduate of Nixon Elementary School in 1922. Attended Carl Schurz H.S. and served his country in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945. He attained the rank of Corporal. He participated in the Great Normandy Invasion in June of 1944. He fought in Northern France, the Rhineland and Central Europe. To his family, he was known as "Our Private Ryan". He was a "Fuller Brush Man" in Chicago for over 40 years. He is survived by two nephews, Donald (Darlene) and Raymond Stahl and a niece, Joyce (the late Thomas) McGlade and one great-nephew, Thomas M. McGlade. Funeral services are Friday, 1 p.m. at the Casey Laskowski & Sons Funeral Home, 4540-50 W. Diversey Ave. Interment Irving Park.
