Arthur Riding Obituary

Arthur J Riding 1921 ~ 2010 Riding, Arthur J. of Mesa, Arizona, passed away September 19, 2010 at the age of 89.Art was born in Panguitch, Utah March 18, 1921. He moved to Salt Lake City at the age of 16 where he attended South High School. Art attended Utah State College in Logan, Utah. He was drafted during World War II where he served in Europe in Patton's 3rd Army-71st Division as a 1st Sergeant and received the American Theatre of Operations Service Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal. Art married Ruby Anderson on November 13, 1942. Art and Ruby moved to Phoenix at the end of the war and lived in Phoenix and Cornville, AZ. Art and Ruby are survived by five children, Linda Cluff (Verdell), Jim (Kathe), Mary, Judy Schaub (Ben), Jed (Kristi), 25 grandchildren and 63 great grandchildren. Art was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in several church callings including eight stake missions. He loved to fish, camp, garden and spend quality time with his family. Services will be held at the LDS Chapel at 1316 E. Cheery Lynn in Phoenix on Friday, September 24, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., with visitation at 9:00 a.m. Interment at the National Memorial Cemetery, 23029 N.
