A fine gentleman and friend, one of the best. He started my career at the I.C. and for a young man whe needed help, he was there.

Art became the head of the computer programming staff at the Illinois Central Railroad back in the 1960's. He never waivered in the confidence he showed the staff of the young programmers indirectly reporting to him and for that I am grateful. Many of us went on to have solid careers in the field and it was these early years under his guidance that gave me the foundation to do well. Thank you Art from many of us.

While I have not seen Art for 25 years or more, we recently became re-aquatinted exchanging e-mails and it was good to hear from him. We worked together on the Illinois Central RR in the 60s and 70s.
