Great Grandpa,
You always showed me love everytime I was with you. I will always remember your cooking and the visits to your apartment when I was young. The candy covered almonds, the change that was dispersed between my brother and I, the walks at the Tacoma mall, and Frisko Freeze for lunch. I know that you are with Great Grandma and she is happy to finally see you. I can still feel your hugs and kisses and still hear your laughs. I will always love you.

Starting sometime last summer, my father shared a table with your father in the dining room at The Weatherly. Your dad gave my dad a reason to come to meals- something he hadn't done in the previous 3 years of his residence there.I really enjoyed watching the two men together. Your father always seemed to have a great spirit. He is so missed.

Grandpa,
I will always remember our talks about fishing and life at sea. You were so special to me. You were the best cook ever and I can’t eat a bowl of sauerkraut without thinking of you telling me how to properly prepare it. I love and miss you and know you’re in a better place. Say hi to grandma; I know she’s been waiting on you.
Love
John
