IT´S A SAD DAY FOR US WHO LOVED DAD, BUT I TRULY BELIEVE IT´S A HAPPY DAY FOR HIM, BECAUSE I KNOW HE IS SMILING AGAIN.MY FATHER "TONY´ WAS A GREAT AND GENTLE - MAN, A DEVOUTE CATHOLIC AND FAITHFUL TO OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST AND A FAITHFUL, LOVING AND CARING HUSBAND TO MY MOTHER EVELYN, ALL OF HER LIFE.HE CARED FOR HIS CHILDREN WITH INWARD LOVE, NOT THAT HE TOLD YOU... BUT HOW HE SHOWED YOU.... HE PROTECTED US AND GAVE US ALL OUR HEARTS DESIRED, ESPECIALLY THAT SMILE.NOT ONLY WAS HE A GENTLE - MAN BUT HE WAS A GENTLEMAN. HE WAS KIND TO THE PEOPLE ON HIS ROUTE, HIS NEIGHBORS, THE NUNS AT MY SCHOOL WHEN I GOT IN TROUBLE.............HE NEVER SWORE OR TOLD OFF COLOR JOKES, HE DIDN´T REALLY JOKE MUCH.HE WORKED "TOO" HARD ALL HIS LIFE UNTIL HE HAD TO RETIRE. HE JOINED HIS BROTHERS IN THE PRODUCE BUSINESS OVER THE RAILROAD JOB HE HAD, AFTER SERVING IN WORLD WAR 2, BECAUSE THE FAMILY ...NEEDED HIM.5 AND SOMETIMES 6 DAYS A WEEK HE WOULD GET UP AT 2AM AND COME HOME AT 4PM, EAT AND CALL HIS CUSTOMERS FOR NEXT DAYS ORDER UNTIL 7 AND GO TO BED.HE PROVIDED HIS FAMILY WITH GOOD LIFE, AND HE SERVED HIS CUSTOMERS AND THE WEST SIDE COMMUNITY WITH PRIDE AND RESPECT, AND ALWAYS WITH THAT... GENTLE SMILE.NEEDLESS TO SAY HE TRIED TO CATCH UP ON HIS SLEEP WHERE HE COULD.....SOMETIMES AT DINNER, AT A RESTAURANT, OR EVEN, SORRY FATHER, AT MASS.WE DIDN´T GET MUCH "QUALITY TIME" WITH DAD BUT WE KNEW OUR DAD WELL, HIS THOUGHTS, HIS EXPRESSIONS, THE WAY HE WOULD PRONOUNCE CERTAIN WORDS, AND HE KNEW AND LOVED US.HIS CARE AND CONCERN EXTENDED TO HIS BROTHERS AND SISTERS, THEIR CHILDREN AND TO OUR FRIENDS AS WELL. WHEN YOU CAME OVER TO OUR HOUSE HE MADE SURE YOU WERE WELL FED...... WITH A SMILE.HIS FINAL YEARS WERE HARD ON HIS BODY AS WELL BUT WITH THE EXTRAORDINARY CARE OF MY SISTER CHRIS AND HER BOYS, ESPECIALLY MICHAEL THESE LAST YEARS WERE COMFORTABLE AND PEACEFULL. YOU SOMETIMES COULD GET AN "ALL RIGHT´ OR A "VERY GOOD´ AND IF YOU WERE LUCKY...... A SMILE

Larry, Chris, and Ron-
Your father was a joy to us. Always kind and smiling. We appreciated how he would visit our father in the hospital and tell him stories. God blessed your dad with a kind heart.
