Waickus, Annette M. (nee Gofron), passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2006, after a courageous and valiant battle against cancer. She was a beloved and devoted wife to Joseph for 58 years, a mother extraordinaire to Diane (Dennis) Trina, Pamella (Ronald) Dryier, Dr. Cynthia (Paul) Waickus-Young and Joseph (Colette), a dear and proud grandmother "LaLa" of Denise (William) Zegars, Darrin and Dana Trina, Alexis Dryier, Gregory, Elliot, Gordon and Ethan Young and Courtney and Joel Waickus and a cherished great-grandmother "GG" of Tyler and Trina Zegars. Annette was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Estelle Gofron and her siblings, Stanley, Thaddeus, John and Stephanie. She was a fond aunt and great-aunt of many nieces and nephews, a loyal and faithful friend to many. Annette passionately donated her time and efforts for nearly 30 years to Misericordia Home and Heart of Mercy. She was the "organizational force" behind the annual Misericordia BUMS golf outing and was honored to be the first female recipient BUM OF THE YEAR. Annette was a lifetime member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary Town of Lake VFW 5216. She and her husband, Joe were past presidents of the Quigley South High School Parent Organization. She was a longtime employee of Bershire Foods, retiring after more than 40 years of commitment. Funeral Tuesday, 9:30 a.m., from the Wolniak Funeral Home, 5700 S. Pulaski Rd., to St. Mary Star of the Sea Church for Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation Monday, 2 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Misericordia Home (6300 N.
