Glen R. "Pat" Jeffrey, 78, of Kiowa, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at St. Francis Medical Center in Tulsa.Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Kiowa Cemetery Pavilion with Dick Stites officiating. Burial will be at Kiowa Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.Born April 9, 1930, in Kiowa, he was the son of Gill and Ada Voshal Jeffrey. At a young age, he was baptized into the Assembly of God Church.He spent his entire life living in Kiowa where he graduated from Kiowa High School. After high school he went to work at the Navy Ammunition Depot for a while before joining the Pipe Welders Union No. 798 in Tulsa. There he worked on pipeline jobs as a welder's helper until he retired in 1975.He married Lena Mae Templeton on March 4, 1970, in Durant, and they lived together in Kiowa for the remainder of his life.He enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing golf and helping others.Survivors include his wife, Lena Jeffrey, of the home; daughters and son-in-law, Annette Hatridge, of Kiowa, and Sue and Bill Huchel, Mansfield, Ill.; son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Patti Davis, of Kiowa.Also, brothers and sisters-in-law, Eugene "Buddy" Jeffrey, of Pittsburg, and Jackie and Clara Jeffrey, Fredericksburg, Va.; sister and brother-in-law, Fern and Hewitt Adams, Imperial Beach, Calif.And, brother-in-law, Warren Mitchell. Bullhead City, Ariz.; son-in-law, Kenneth Doyle, of Kiowa; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Gill and Ada Jeffrey; a brother, Boone Jeffrey; three sisters, Wanda Mitchell, Lois Poe and Hazel Mitchell; daughter, Betty Doyle, and a great-grandson, Stephen Stafford.Pallbearers will be his grandsons.Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph McClendon, Leon McClendon, Charles Gibbs, Junior Edge, Alfred Davis, Chester Edge, Herbert Davis, Earl Davis and Freddie Taylor.
